Elena Rutkevich – Principal Designer/Director
Lavish Events by Design is a premium provider of wedding and event decorating services, based in London, Ontario, and founded in 2013 by Elena Rutkevich.
Elena was born in Riga, Latvia, and raised in Ontario, Canada. Elena’s deep passion and love for decoration traces back to her childhood years, during which she often assisted her mother with decorating, painting, and gardening projects, and developed her keen eye for detail and instinct for creating perfect spaces. Elena is inspired by the lasting memories of her mother’s unique ability to bring gardens to life with the most beautiful flowers imaginable, infusion of creativity, and eye for the exquisite.
Elena, like her mother, has been gifted with the ability to transform ordinary spaces into jaw-dropping venues, pursuing each project with extraordinary passion and creating beautiful, lifelong memories for her clients during the most important occasions of their lives.
In the years of their operations, Elena and her team have developed a reputation for excellence among their hundreds of satisfied clients, and have demonstrated a firm commitment to providing premium quality services at all times.
Elena has an endearing and warm personality, which over the years has led many of her clients to become wonderful friends. She couldn’t be happier and more blessed than she is today, pursuing the career of her dreams and meeting some incredible people along the way.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her two amazing sons, watching movies, or relaxing with a good book and a glass of wine. She has a penchant for travelling and visits some interesting destinations when her schedule permits.
Elsy Galdamez – Creative Assistant Designer
Elsy has been a creative assistant for Lavish Events by Design for the past 3 years and is an integral member of our dynamic team. Elsy has a deep understanding of our philosophy of customer-driven service and is committed to delivering the highest quality designs in every event we undertake.
Elsy’s demonstrable expertise in creating exquisite designs stems from her artistic and creative character. Elsy is meticulous, organized, and precise in each task she performs, from the very basic, such as folding table napkins, to the most complex, such as designing awe-inspiring centerpieces.
Elsy’s ability to multitask, resourcefulness under pressure, and ability to solve problems creatively and quickly has enabled her to consistently deliver the most impressive and stunning designs for our clients over the years. These superior qualities make her a perfect fit for our team.
In her free time, she enjoys cooking new recipes, watching movies with a glass of wine and spending time with her husband and two beautiful daughters.
Jolene Rijnen – Creative Floral Designer
Jolene has extensive knowledge and experience in the floral industry. Weddings are her specialty and that is part of what makes it so easy to plan your event with our team!
Jolene will help you choose the right flowers and style for your special day. Jolene believes that attention to the life flowers is a crucial part of creating wedding designs for our clients. The flower must be at the peak of its beauty on the day of the wedding during its’ life cycle in order to have the best effect. Jolene has perfected how to care for the flowers in order to deliver the best on your special day. This is how we are able to guarantee picture perfect florals for any event.
Although flowers won’t last a lifetime, pictures will and Jolene can’t wait to make yours amazing!
Lilia – Hair and Make-up Artist
Lilia is a Hair and Make-up Artist.
Lilia’s charisma and originality have propelled her through 20 years as an esteemed Hair and Make-up Artist.
She started her career in Canada where she began to develop her craft. She soon moved
to NYC where she continued to build on her career. Lilia’s discipline and attention to detail are reflected in her work, simultaneously meticulous and creative. Lilia has owned and operated two hair salons/spas for over 15 years. She draws inspiration from icons and trends in fashion, photography, and beauty to perfect her look for her clients.
